Friday saw thousands of students gather in Aarhus’ Universitetparken to witness boating, chugging and naked running at the annual Kapsjelads. Many departments competed, but Psychology took the trophy home for the second year running.

The biggest student event of the year, Kapsjelads is hosted annually at Aarhus University by the Medicine department student association, Umbilicus. Students arrive at the park as early as 02:00 to secure their seats for the 13:00 start, and what proceeds is a fun-filled day of music, partying and silliness.
The event itself consists of each departmental team competing in relay heats on the lake: kayaking across the water, chugging a beer, spinning around and kayaking back. In addition to the competition, each department performs a wild sketch of dancing and ridiculousness, and this year saw themes including The Hunger Games, the Smurfs and the Super Mario Brothers.
