In the rough North of Jutland, where the North Sea and Baltic Sea meet, lies Skagen – the northernmost city of Denmark. Especially the old part of town – Gammel Skagen (formally known as Højen) – offers breathtaking beaches and stunning nature. No wonder the so called Skagensmalerne, a group of painters from Denmark, Norway and Sweden, settled there in the late 19th century to capture Skagens beautiful landscapes on canvas. Kind of like a tribute, the pictures from Shades of Jutland also try to do justice to Skagen’s unique beauty. See for yourselves!
